YAMANAMI is a series of furniture designed for the japanese manufacturer TAKUMI KOHGEI. Yamanami means Mountain Range in Japanese, as the sculptural yet soft and clean design of the pieces is inspired by the Taisetsu mountains in Asahikawa, which surround the company workshop and the craftsmen who work there. Asahikawa is one of the main areas for wood manufacturing in Japan and the expertise of Takumi Kohgei is represented in every single detail of these pieces of furniture.
